I am sorry to hear about your issue with OMP. I myself have been a member since 2001 and have only had one problem with them- they didn't honor my free upgrade when I won a online modeling contest in XXX a year ago (I actually met Brett there; he's a pompous ass, to be honest, and about 300 pounds). But all in all, OMP is actually a decent site to hold your portfolio and you have access to thousands of others in the industry, if you don't ever run into any problems. Why not try ModelMayhem.com... I actually get more photographers approaching me for work there....good luck!

paypal note
I was just reading your blog. I am new to Chicago and tying to find agents and the agencies here and I am glad you put your Blog.
On thing that may help you is even if you lost the claim on paypal you can try calling your credit card company that you have on file with paypal and they will most likely be able to help you.
I have learned this because I have been ripped off just recently on ebay for a purchase that I did. Let me know if you need help. Take Care, J

very unprofessional...
My experience with OMP has been that very few of the models have ever showed up for scheduled tests. Most of the people I have contacted through that site seemed very unprofessional. I tried OMP when it was free, but haven't used them in years.

They don't give a shit.
Welcome to my hell.
Say something bad, get booted. Brett did that to me a few years ago. Honestly, OMP is full of fuckheads anyway. All the inexperienced models are there not to gain experience but to make a quick buck. If you're in the porn industry, then you'll find a lot of people looking for a quick buck. If you're looking for models to respond.. best of luck.
I canned my subscription.. not worth it at ALL. Hell, they wouldn't even let me drop back to a bronze account, just to keep my number.. and I've been there since the beginning, as I was member XXXX. They don't give a shit.

they are ALL the same...
sorry to hear about your bad experience with one model place- but rather than suggest people go to another of these sites, I wish you would have used your post as a perfect example of why not to deal with ANY of them- they are ALL the same- there is no guarantee for them to do anything BUT take your money. Using a reputable agent is THE only way to get seen by industry pros for casting or modelling- and even then it's not a sure thing- my agent pretty much sucks, but at least he doesn't charge me UNLESS he finds me work. Anytime someone asks for money to represent you- RUN AWAY should have been your message.
Better luck for the future.

I am not hiding anything...
So I get a few emails today from people, ask if what brett from onemodelplace was saying about is true. Well if you want to know anything about please just ask. I am after all, not hiding anything about myself:
To prove this, below are the truths about myself:
General
Name: John Peterman
Age: 34
Height: 6'-1”
Weight:195lbs
Hair: Bald(shaved head)
Eyes: Cold Blue
Sex: Male
Status: Divorced
Kids: None
OK so the general stuff is out of the way. Now for the good stuff. I am the type of person who wears many many hats, and I own and operate several corporations, some of which Brett seems to think are worth throwing out there to people as if I am hiding it. So here is it, and I'll run down the list, and then I'll Blog about in detail latter. I do own adult websites, one of which is called assfinders.com/net/org. This site is an adult amateur based website that services the African American community. I have roughly 20,000 current members for this particular site. This sites business model, is based off the members providing the content as free members, and then paying to view the archived content. With this model, the site is considered a third party under title 18. The corporation that runs this site is Blacksheep Productions, Inc. and is based out of Las Vegas, NV. This was done for tax reasons. We own and co-locate 3 major enterprise servers for this site. The servers are located in data centers in: Dallas, Chicago, and St. Louis. Everything is done in the open and within the federal regulations, we are a member to our local chamber of commerce, AND we pay our taxes!! We use third party billing systems by CCbill and Paycom/Epoch, we are in good standings with Visa! If anyone knows anything about Visa, then you will know they are VERY VERY strict on the type of sites they accept.
Other companies I own are web hosting companies, email services, web design services, computer consulting, programing, electrical consulting, process control consulting, think tank, and several documentary projects of varies natures.
I originally joined onemodelplace in late 2004, and my main account was in good standings with them until when my membership was due in January 2007. I had several issues with them, but nothing major. During my first few months with them, onemodelplace was going through some growing pains and they where adding several new servers. I had even talked with Kevyn Ferris, and Keven Reid, about there problems, and gave them a few suggestions. I have never claimed to be a guru, but I do know a few things.
In 2006 I opened up a second account under onemodelplace, but set it up as an adult producer. This is displayed very prominently in the profile. I was using this account for what onemodelplace is used for, to network and make contacts. I would talk and email models and other adult producers to inquire about developing content for some of my side projects. I made several contact in the rage of content producers, and adult models, along with some other models that just did artistic nude work. I had a good repor with everyone I had worked with during my time on the site. I did email non-adult models, but when I did it was always very professional and courteous. And I have to say that I don't honestly know as I am typing this, if I had asked any of the non-adult models if they where interested in that type of work. I would like to think I didn't, but I cant say with 100% certainty. I did however contact adult models to inquire about possible work. I would always ask what their limits where, their rates, and current schedule. And that in my opinion is not out of line and would seem quite normal protocol. Granted I didn't have any specific project(s) going on, but if I liked the models looks, I would try and shoot with her. I have only and will only shoot solo type work. Boy/Girl work is too much of a gray area and is not worth the trouble on any level. All model(s) I have worked with were paid in full at the end of every shoot, and i had them fill out a W9, along with a release and proof of age; title 18 recored keeping documents. In other words I kept everything on the up and up and legal.
Now some people might not know this, but there is an entire underground culture on onemodelplace dealing in the adult entertainment industry. But to access this, you have to be a platinum member of the site. Onemodelplace does hold a strict standard on the types of photos that can be uploaded to a profile, no X-rated shots, even though some can and are questionable.
Also on a side note, there is no age restriction or filter type system in place to keep a child from searching the onemodelplace site and finding naked model photos.
I used the onemodelplace's chat room services with my adult account. I used to go to their chat room all the time when is was open to all membership levels, back in 2005. I used it to network and make new friends in the photo/fashion/modeling industry. Some of which are very dear and close friends of mine to this day! AMY R. I LOVE YOU DEAR!! BE SAFE! Then onemodelplace changed the feature set of the site and closed the chat room to anyone that wasn't a silver or higher level. At that time I was the highest membership level, but essential it killed the chat room, and no one was ever in there. I let my main account's membership drop down to the lowest level in 2006. Sometime during 2006, onemodelplace changed there feature set back to allowing the lower memberships to enter the chat area. At this time I had my adult profile, and used that to chat with old friends. The reason I used this account was because my main account for some reason would not log on to the digichat, it would say you have to be a silver member or higher to use this chat. So again I ended up using my adult profile. I never did hid who I was in the chat room, I told my old chat friend who I was, and they all welcomed me with open arms. Now back in the day ( that sounds soo funny) we found a way to hid your onemodelplace profile number from displaying in the chat. All you had to do was add an “ ' “ to the end of your chat login name. We did that from time to time, and it was all done in good fun. It was during one of these time, that an admin logged on and told me to change my chat name back to normal. I politely asked him why, and he replied to me that it was against the rules. Not I am one of those peoples that reads the fine print on everything. I never remember reading anything about your chat name. So I asked him to clarify what exact rule I was breaking. If I was breaking a rule, I wanted to know what it was, because maybe I had missed something! He didn't respond, but he did ban me from the chat room.
This is where I emailed brett and asked him to clarify why I was banned, and exactly what rule(s) I did break! Just like some of the other emails I had been receiving I got no answers. I let it go for awhile, knowing that they have a large member base, and having a similar one on my own sites, I can relate to support issues. Several weeks went by and I still didn't have any chat access, and no reply from support. SO again, like the others here have said; I sent another email to brett. AGAIN nothing after a few days. This is when I wrote my third email and added to the end, that I own the domain webmodelplace.com, and that I would just use it instead. I thought that an email like that would get a response. And it did, they deleted my account and took my 200+ in cash and said thank you, don't come back. Now let me tell you about webmodelplace! I bought this domain name SEVERAL years before this! I am an active participant in whats called domain AD parking. I buy a domain that sounds like another site, PARK the site with an ad company, such as godaddy.com and then purchase key search words from Google. What happens is if a user searches for the key worlds model portfolio, my site would be listed. If a person clicked on my link in the search engine it would bring up my AD page, and display links that where relevant to the topic typed in. In the case of this website, it WOULD DIRECT TRAFFIC TOO onemodelplace!!! I was a TRAFFIC provider to onemodelplace!!! I hope everyone is getting this.. I would essentially tell people to go to onemodelplace.
I was never going to use the site as a model site and never had any intentions to do so, it merely said to try and get a response out of brett. Granted it was the wrong one that I had wanted.
Since then I have trademarked the *********, ***, *****, ***********, and ***. The trademark registration takes about 12 to 18 months to complete. Once they are final I will open litigation on onemodelplace to have them stop using the *** nake as I will have an ownership of the trademark. And then I WILL open up a new model portfolio site that WILL be OPEN! And not restrictive as onemodelplace is. I believe that onemodelplace's business models are very week, and am setting out to prove this.
I operate 20 million dollar + companies**(I am not saying that I have 20mill... geez people stop asking for money..), and have been one of the driving forces in increasing revenues and establishing new methods; in my own words “to think outside the box!”
I welcome comments! And Questions of all types! I am not hiding as some people have suggested... I am right here in front of you yelling at the top of my lungs! Come and get me!
Oh and I have to say that Brett did call me direct after all this started and was threating that he had a meeting with the FBI and that he had all my IP numbers and all this documentation to had over to them! And I really have to laugh out loud, because I cant think of where I could of violated any regulation. So brett if you read my blogs.. know this. I have been in contact with the FBI's Internet fraud department and had very lengthy conversations with them, along with providing them with documentary proof of transaction, and your emails. And that my friend is no joke!
Peace as always from the laid back guy, unless he is pushed!

Fuck onemodelplace.com in the goat ass!!
Ok thanks for giving me a place to express my rant!
I had an OMP account! I paid 200 buck a year to be a Platinum member, and this allowed me to upload larger photos, and to have more than the 5 for the base membership.
Well I noticed that when I was uploading images, OMP was resizing them to a base membership. (that just makes the photos look like complete dog shit) Not very good for a portfolio!
So I did what anyone else would have done. I wrote to support.
3 days later... Nothing.
So I wrote to them again. A couple of more days go by and I write AGAIN! Now after almost 2 weeks, I am starting to get a bit PISSY. So I write another email to support. But this one was rather nasty; I threaten to cancel my membership.
Still no response! None at all! Not even a threat made them JUMP! So I figured the squeaky wheel gets the grease! So I sent like 20 emails to support in a time frame of about 10 mins! That was on a Saturday. That following Monday I received an email from a model and asked if I knew that my account appeared to be gone! I had no idea what she was talking about.
So I went online to look for myself, and I saw "we are sorry the member you are looking for does not exist" or something like that.
Again, I wrote Support and asked what was going one with my account. This is what I got back:
I see the issue,
It appears that you violated omp policies on spamming.
We cannot allow you back on omp.
Please do not return to omp
Brett
They deleted my account! To say the least I was shocked. I wrote several email to Mr. Brett, but got nothing back in return. So I went to Paypal to try and get my money back, but as it turns out you cant make a claim on a membership based site, because its not a shipped good. Paypay sent me a copy of the user agreement for paypal, and there is no claims venue on memberships, you have to take it up with the membership site!
To me it looks like a really good scam OMP has going on, take your money and then delete our account and keep the money.
Also during the "tried" paypal dispute process, Brett made claims that I had Violated OMP user terms and services. I have read over the User Terms 10 times, and have never found where I violated anything. Since when is emailing to support a VIOLATION!
So as of right now this is my new favorite site!! I am going to tell everyone I know about it.
I urge all users of OMP to try other model portfolios sites that offer the same thing if not better:
Musecube.com
Newfaces.com
Modelmayhem.com
Modelplace.com
onetalentsource.com
There are lost of other options!
John, have you ever thought about opening up a Class action law suite for unfair businesses practices?!?!
And to Brett, if you're reading this FUCK OFF!! Your site design hasn't changed in 3 years!

I feel for you Alex! Almost the exact same thing happened to me! But I do think they have changed their site some what, but the over all main theme remains the same.

dishonest billing
I was scammed by www.onemodelplace.com. Over a year ago I discovered their site online and read all the stories about thousands of models getting contacted for work and what a great deal onemodelplace.com is. They make it sound so easy and so inexpensive.
Well 1 year later I have finally realized the truth. They are a scam!!!! I have cancelled my membership with them three months ago but still I get charged every month. No matter how many times I call I still am getting billed. Oh, and all those jobs out there that I was supposed to be contacted for all were non paying TFP's (Trade for Pictures) and almost all of them wanted me to be nude or doing some sort of porn.
If you are thinking about joining www.onemodelplace.com I would strongly recommend against it. I am out several hundreds of dollars because of those rip off artists....

As with any type of model/portfolio site... It is just a TOOL! You have to use it to promote yourself and get your face out there. Just simply sitting back and waiting for people to contact you will not really work and that goes for any model/portfolio site. All though, it seems that sometimes you are penalized for trying to use their member contact link.

Dan Beyer marketing Director unprofessional
I entered the One Model Place Bikini Contest in Aug. 2004 and was happy when I placed 2nd. One Model Place displayed my picture along with the rest of the top 10 winners. A few days later I emailed One Model Place asking about my prizes and they replied back a few days later saying the results were not official even though our pictures were already displayed. They explained that they had to make sure that everyone was following the rules.
A few days later they displayed the winners again with my picture and name removed from the top 10 completely. They did not accuse me of cheating or not following the rules and I did follow the rules and did not cheat, in fact they did not contact me at all with any type of explanation for why I was removed from 2nd place and from the top 10.
I emailed Dan Beyer, Marketing Director since this is who One Model Place told me to contact with contest problems. I emailed Dan Beyer about 3 times and never heard back. He ignored my emails. I called him a few days later and just received a recording.
One Model Place acted in a very unprofessional manner with me and I am very disappointed with my treatment as a paying customer for their site. I am entitled to my 2nd place prizes and would like your help. Also other models need to know about the poor treatment that I received from One Model Place regarding this matter and something needs to ge done about the illegitimate contests One Model Place has.

"unsuspend"
I had only been a member of OMP both as a photographer and model for about 6 months. I spent alot of time in their "chat room" just watching how people conducting themselves. They have "very strict guidelines" about professional conduct in the chat yet, my 14 year old son who logged on to OMP came to me asking what BDSM was and why would a photographer want to be tied up. I complained about how people were speaking and the language being used in the chat room and received no response. It only got worse with time as people would find ways to spell words so that the filters would not edit them. On my modeling port I got nothing but porn offers and hit on the entire time, even in the chat room. Just a bunch of perverts trying to get models in bed. This is the biggest and hokiest scam around! Furthermore, here is a copy of the email they sent me for suspending my account and how to "unsuspend" it.
This message is to notify you that you recently either canceled your subscription membership to OMP, or it expired, or your credit card failed to process. Your profile has been temporarily suspended and will remain intact and suspended for the next 24 hours, after which time it will be deleted unless re-activated. To continue your membership on OMP please go to http://www.onemodelplace.com/member_activate.cfm to reactivate your profile.
Regards,
brett@onemodelplace.com
As you can see, no direct reason. When you go to the reactivation page you are placed into a forced paid account or be deleted.

One Model Place Ripoff! Uncooperative and Unprofessional!
My account was suspended on OMP because I had downgraded to a free account. When I contacted Brett at OMP via email he could not give me an exact reason for my account being suspended and threatened that if I did not reactivated my account with a paid membership I would be deleted within 24hrs.
I wasn't able to make the payment thru their site because of errors on the page so I went to paypal as requested, made the payment, forwarded a copy of the receipt to them and as promised by their site - my account would be reactivated within 24hrs. It is now well beyond the 24hr. mark and my account has not been activated. I have made several attempts at contacting them in regards to this, asking for some kind of explaination and they have flat out ignored me and have not responded.
Furthermore, my payment has yet to be refunded. So, all together, they are not answering my attempts of contacting them, no account that I paid for and no refund as of yet. I have spoken with other members and they are having the same issues with OMP.
J

This happened to me as well! To the sum of $200+! OH! and DONT USE PAYPAL to buy a membership! PAYPAL MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS ARE 100% NON-REFUNDABLE! so you have NO recourse what so ever!

One Model Place Took Store Order Didnt Deliver Wont Reply to Emails ripoff
I ordered 3 items totaling $105 from the OMP store on 08/08/2006. They charged my cc but never sent the merchandise. I sent 15 emails and left voice mails and nobody will respond to any of my messages. All i asked for was a status of my order. They have horrible customer service, take your money, and don't deliver the merchandise ordered. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.

Onemodelplace.com ripoff Fraud uncaring not willing to listen to consumer
I registered with onemodelplace to see if I could generate business and network with models, everything was good until they told me I was spamming. They cut my email access to the site off but kept my profile up, what this means is that everyone that I contacted could contact me but I could not contact them or respond back. They referred me to their user guideline section and I responded to them via email, I said ok but if I paid for a registration that allows me to contact 50 members on the site at a time during one day, then why can't I contact them, They said I was Spamming. They have different levels of registration, some levels you can only contact oh maybe 10 members or what ever you pay for, then I told them they should allow all consumers the right to look at your so called User Guidelines before they pay their money to get on onemodelmplace's web site, That in my opinion is FRAUD!!
If I could of looked at their user Guideline section before I paid my money then that may have altered my decision to use onemodelplace for the purposes that I got on the site for. They offer everything else just for you to join the site but fall short on explaining to consumers their web site's limitations. So, no recourse or explanation was given or more yet, my money back. It should be a law for any Web Site to disclose all relevant information or (User Guidelines ) to the consumer before they join. Stay AWAY FROM ONEMODELPLACE ! !

onemodelplace.com ripoff fraud absolutely untrustworthy New York City New York
I registered with onemodelplace and of course I paid with credit card, they said with my particular level of registration that I could contact up to 50 members a day, they lied, they then canceled my account without warning after I had connected with members on the site and of course they can no longer contact me. They then said that I am no longer welcome on the site because I don't follow the rules. I said what rules, then they showed me a few paragraphs from their user guidelines and I did nothing wrong, they base their removal of my membership solely on their gut feelings of what they considered spamming and holding a contest. How could I be spamming if I paid for the certain level of registration that allows me to contact 50 members a day. Then they tell me as a model referral services, that I am in violation of California laws, to explain my business to me after two years of earning a living at this is totally ridicules. I have been promoting and referring models for over two years connecting models/ entertainers with the most tangible and the most productive working situations I can find with great success. I have often referred models to Onemodelplace making them more profits, of which I will NEVER DO AGAIN!
In a nut shell, they said that promoting for a contest and spamming is not allowed. I ask them in an email could I just change the wording, of course they said no because they figured it is still a contest and I would still be spamming. They offered no refund and I wish I could sue.

ripoff dishonest scam fraudulant shaddy Internet *Consumer Comment
I posted my information on onemodelplace.com and what a complete waste of my time. I have never been contacted by so many people wanting to either get me naked or try to get in bed with me. I have been listed on www.onemodelplace.com for over 8 months and in that time I have yet to receive one legitimate job request.
This company boasts, all over their front page, that there are thousands of hits each day but what they don't tell you is that all of them are from sick or horny people. In my opinion, no legitimate company uses this site. If you are thinking of using onemodelplace.com please take this warning and stay away. Or if your thinking of putting your kids picture on their site be prepared to be contacted by all pedophiles in your area.
They are very dishonest people and my recommendation to all is to stay as far away from onemodelplace.com as you can.

Showcases...
I have to say, the showcases on onemodelplace are a total scam! just like the other blogs I read here. I had the $10.00 membership, it gives you 5 photos at a limited image resolution. i had this account for a bit over a year with no show cases! Once I upgraded my account, I was given a showcase the next day! WTF I thought... It was an images that I had up for about a year!
Seems to me they just want the $$, or at least the more you $$ the more they look at your work. Seems like a scam to me.

OMP is a sad place...
OMP is a sad place but it is the only one right now that has models and photographers joining. If we would all stick together and promote this group it can be bigger and better than OMP or any other place on the net. For it to work Photographers have to encourage models to join our group and models need to encourage photographers who are not in the group to join. Then we shoot with each other and leave our egos at the door. It can and is a great group of people so we need to promote our own group then promote others.

OMP is now something to avoid...
I agree that OMP is now something to avoid. I think they got greedy so I went from a platinum to a "free" site, then they even started charging me $10.00 for the free site. I can't really tell that it does anyone any good. Although there are many good models and photographers on there there are also a lot of "I am beautiful and a great model" by some who have no clue. It might be worth the minimum charge of $10.00 that they now have,00 but I don't think it worth any more.

onemodel place
Hello Mr. Peterman
I am part of the yahoo group and was reading what you mentioned about the above mentioned subject. I am not on onemodelplace and know very little about it, however I do have an account on MySpace. Incase you are not aware if you have a problem on MySpace, you can forget about good customer service. There are no phone numbers or anything only email. If you email them it is likely you may or may not get a response back, and if you do it could be weeks later and the answer may have nothing to do with the question.
However you are right on 1 thing, Myspace has over 1 million users (countless celebrities) and if you want to get yourself out there, yes it is likely the best way to go about it. If I can help anyone fron your group with questions regarding MySpace let me know (especially if you need help with an attractive layout) or if I don't know the answer I will attempt to find out.
Much success

My experience with OMP has been that very few of the models have ever showed up for scheduled tests. Most of the people I have contacted through that site seemed very unprofessional. I tried OMP when it was free, but haven't used them in years.

Subject: One Model Place
I agree with you there. I signed up with the site along time ago and supposedly I've had almost 500 hits on it but I can't check it of course unless I sign up for at least a silver package or whatever. I'm way poor and there's no way I could afford their services. That's why I'm on there in the first place-to get a paying job so I can pay for stuff! Anyway, yah, One Model Place sucks!

www.modelfusion.com
Onemodelplace is the owner and operator of the site www.modelfusion.com, which has not been updated since 2004! Whats up with that. AND they just recently started to update the onemodelplace site. They are still using the horrid menu/navigation system that is flash driven. And the site looks as if its 100% based on coldfusion servers, and that's a dated technology. I'm just not a fan of the site. They started to ad features like blogs and fan clubs, and they thought it was something "new" in the industry when in fact they where just playing catchup and doing enough to keep their current membership happy. I don't think that non-productive narrow minded non-forward thinking approach will work in the long run.
Thanks John for letting me have this forum to express my views... Keep up the work, we need people out there like you.

OMP Practices
If you are a member of onemodelplace, and also have account(s) at ANY of the other portfolio sites out there, onemodelplace will sensor your links or verbiage about the other sites! They don't allow any mention of any other portfolio sites, or any negative comments or feedback. But the other sites do not practice the same marketing tactics.
If you do happen to have a negative comment or feed back, their solution is to simply delete or remove your account from their system, even if you are a paid member. No refund given, they simply just make up an excuse, saying that you violated one of their undocumented rules.
just my 2 cents

I became a member of OMP 2 years ago, and i had a few issues with them, like resizing my images to the lowest membership level when I had paid for the highest level, and the 5 weeks the site was down due to a hurricane, and they didn't extend my membership, and the 2 to 3 weeks a support ticket goes unanswered.
But what really ticked me off was when my Visa credit card was compromised, and one of the items that was bought, was a monthly membership to their site. I closed my visa account and when through the long drawn out process of requesting a refund, and during this time, they DELETED my account! Now I had paid for this account through paypal. and for some reason they thought i was ripping them off by asking for a refund, when in fact they had my money for a years worth of service. Well I lost my $18 for the monthly fee on my visa and i lost my $150+ on my yearly membership. And Visa and Paypal where no help at all, and refused to even look at it, do to Brett at omp. I don't recommend this site to anyone!
***Editors Note***
OMP was down due to a hurricane, but I do not believe it was 5 weeks, it might have been more in the line of 2 weeks tops, but even then that show a poor planing on OMP's part to have a disaster pan in place, and or place the servers in more than one place. If it was my site, i would of placed them in a Chicago and Dallas data centers. But that's just me

Really a terrible site
Honestly it really is the worst site to navigate. It is very cluttered, confusing to the point that you don't want to take the time to use the vast inventory it contains. It has been and always will be extremely slooowwwwwwwww and that in itself is the most frustrating. There are a few good model/photog sources out there of which this is one of them, but it simply was put together like a 3 ring circus. Also the images that get featured in the showcase are embarassing.
Total waste of my time.

I spent hours on this site just trying to find a a few good models for some photography work and all I got back were messages telling me the talent email addresses were no longer valid. Hellooooo. If you continue to list talent for work you should at least have some way to contact them! It's clear to me that this site is more for entertainment and rank amateurs. Its popularity is probably due to the dirty pictures and pervs. Don't waste your time...

what a bunch of BS
I mean really anyone in the industry who knows of OMP knows it is an over inflated waste of time. This has been discussed on forum after forum and some negatve reviews only garner the OMP clan giving positive fluff reviews. The site loads slow, has many scammers on it and is an annoyance to navi around. Go elsewhere you won't need to take Extra Strength Tylenol then
C grade talent
This site is a slow, troublesome, the chat lags, the site is always giving you errors, and the quality of the models up there is awful. Someone please screen the talent.
Awful site

how many times can you visit a site with high speed dsl and not be able to tour the site. How many times will it take for OMP to accept responsibility for there over-inflated and useless content to accept that the site is awful. A high percentage of models on OMP do not even model anymore which indicates a lack of credibility and no screening or examination of the content. Please eliminate portfolios that are old, clean your files once in a while and stop losing surfers due to your inability to clean house once in a great while. And please do away with the model showcase until there enough caliber images to justify such a title.

B-rated models & photographers. Don't expect high-quality

As mentioned by others, onemodelplace is not an agency and never claims to be, rather it's a third-party venue for the interaction of those in the modeling industry (aspiring models, make-up and hair artists, photographers). That said, you will not find the highest standards on the site, so don't expect much. Most of the photographers are average at best, some decent and a few standouts.. don't be surprised to run into complete amateurs (nothing wrong with that :) and wedding photographers. There are models on there that wouldn't have a chance even in the commercial print world (Target, KMart, Walmart, etc.) as you'll occasionally see webcam pictures of high school girls. You'll rarely, if ever, see high fashion, supermodels on this site because if you know you have what it takes, you wouldn't associate yourself with onemodelplace.
The site seems to pander toward model's ego, evidenced by the counter on each profile (viewable by everyone) showing the number of times it's been viewed... like a popularity contest. Otherwise, what good is the counter except for the profile owner?
If you're looking for the type of work you see on Cosmo or GQ, do it the old fashion way: go to where the industry is (for example... LA, NYC, Milan for high fashion... Chicago for commercial print) go to casting calls, send pictures to legit agencies, NETWORK offline, etc. This is a people business... actors and models primarily rely on real-world interaction. Face-to-face can show and tell much more than online profiles. I'm in a major fashion city and am in the know with the agencies and the fashion scene and everyone who values themselves and their time know of onemodelplace but don't need it.

WebGrrl (New York) -
This is bar-none the sleaziest modeling site on the net. It's all nude photos and amateurs! If you're serious about modeling, you should try site that real professinoals use, like www.newfaces.com

Porn stars, webcam girls and greedy webmasters
D. Carpenter (Los Angeles, CA) -
One Model Place is definately the work of greedy individuals who don't have the good sense to sensor the work on it. Taking absolutely no pride in quality or content, anyone with a webcam is allowed to post themselves on this site as a "professional model". To further water down the professionalism of the fashion industry is the featured members profile which only allows paid members to be included.
OMP's service became even more attrocious when they hurt yearly paid members of the middle-ground memberships and reverted them all to the lower membership level and doing away with pewter altogther, not warning it's members.
Good idea, poorly executed by bloated men.

OMP disgrace
This site is a disgrace
Disgusted "Disgusted" (Phila. Pa) -
The people at OMP should be ashamed of themselves they allow nude photos of women to be posted next to photos of children. I dont know much about the law but they have to be walking a fine line. They do not screen any people and recently a model met a photographer through omp in philadelphia and was murdered after the shoot. OMP is a DISGRACE.
***Editors Note***
OMP does limit searches for non-paying members on the nude searches. And as of this writing you do not have to be a member to view profiles that contain nudity. And OMP has a stick policy on the type of nude work that is show, but again it is a fine line.

A Joke
J. Derwin -
Stay away from this site. It is a complete rip off. After double paying for my membership, I cancelled my recurring billing only to find out my profile had been deleted. As it stands now they owe me for a months worth of service or the money I spent on their upsurd site.
On a design note, the site is bloated as could be. It looks like it was made by a webcam girl. All small point fonts, and flash, with tons of javascript.
If you want to save pictures of the models just use firefox and disable javascript for the session.
Maybe if they spent some money on development, design and direction(why DO they have underage models WITH adult performers on the same site anyways?) make 2 sites, one for adults and one for non adult they would have something.
If you want my advice, don't signup with this site, lest you lose your money and/or your profile within the timeframe you signed up for.

I had an account on OMP. The site has not been available for a whole week. My biggest complaint about it when it used to be online was that a lot of profiles were empty, no photos or info. Other profiles were sadly out of date. Also, after paying for a membership I found out that a lot of the models I was trying to reach had no valid e-mail address, so what was I paying for? Bounced mail and unavailable servers should be free...but why would you want that?

Totally Cool (USA) - Besides taking more than 5 minutes for the front page to load (On a cable modem), the menus do not work UNLESS you have Flash in your PC. Nobody can even see your work UNLESS they are a member, and its BEYOND overly-commercialized!! They got ads that dont even load! You have to CONSTANTLY scroll up and down (I hate that) for hours just to read something. I think these people need to hire REAL webmasters to run it. Its HORRIBLE. They Also drop SPYWARE/TROJAN in your PC from a subserver just to get on and my firewalls alarms go off like crazy when I try to visit. The models apparently are cliquish and think they are totally in demand by everyone else, and most of them are NOT. Well the real models are on other sites that are much better. Stay away from this site and use the others, both for work and above all, your safety. OMP is the pretty much one of the worst places to be seen (If your luckily not buried in search results).
Total Scamworks
J. Bennett - I've had photo after photo get "showcased", but never for my page, always for the model or MUA. Then I realized it was 'cause I had the cheapest account. They just want your money.

Hello everyone out in Internet land!
I just wanted to say to everyone out there that onemodelplace.com sucks ass! I can't begin to tell you how much I hate this company! And brett@onemodelplace.com is also a self acclaimed god... or at lease he would think so. They are thieves to the highest degree! Stealing your money; with no recourse or appeal.
SO I ask you this. Email me if you have been wronged by this company, or have had nasty dealings with them. I want all your stories; I want to compile stories and claims about onemodelplace.com, to prove to the world what they really are!
I also urge you to cancel your account with them if you have one, and utilize this great resource call myspace.com for your modeling or photography adventures.
onemodelplace is a dinosaur and has lost all momentum forward as a portfolio site.
Peace

John,
One would figure a person that takes good pic's would at least have a clue, but Cleary you have smelled to much welding gas or other toxic chemicals
No accounting for brains / and taste.
Just because something is free, doesnot make it better.. I would guess you try and charge for your images..
I think you should give them away free.. why not, all you do is snap the shutter..
Asshole...
Oh maybe you do give away your work, this is why you don't have the 10 bucks for the year... lol....
If a member cannot afford 10 bucks I don't want the cheap asshole emailing my models..good luck on myspace...
--------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see, he is not a very happy person, and clearly has no people skills.
Peace
